Hi Kanyon, This is Prof. Ongiri here. I think you bring up an interesting point about film length and the ability to tell a more complex story. Cinema of attractions generally refers to the shorter films that hinged around one visual attraction rather than those that were story driven. I think the interesting thing about Vampyr is that it is a hybrid between cinema of attraction and narrative cinema. It has those visual elements that are there just to fascinate your eye but it also has strong story elements as well as you noted.
